Youth Development Services

Serving over 2,000 youth annually in San Antonio and the eleven counties surrounding Bexar.  Our Get2Work program serves over 6,000 youth in Starr, Hidalgo, and Willacy Counties each year.
 

Current GSCS youth programs include GED preparation, workforce development training, life skills classes, opportunities for academic enrichment, health education, after school and summer activities, among others.  All youth programs are intentionally designed to stabilize families, establish nurturing relationships and foster self-sufficiency.

Get2Work Youth Employment Training supports economically disadvantaged youth, 70% of whom are high school drop outs, achieve the life and academic skills and vocational competencies necessary to obtain and keep a job. Our most recent Get2Work program opened in February 2006 in Starr, Hidalgo, & Willacy Counties and is serving 6,000 youth.

Get2Work On-Line Application for San Antonio

The Good Samaritan Community Services Get2Work Project is a comprehensive workforce development program for youth ages 14 to 18 that are living in Bexar County.  Through participation in this project, every participant will have the opportunity to learn about the multitudes of occupations in the real world, their personal career interests, and even acquire positive work and life skills through a series of curriculums and key components.  These components are designed to specifically meet the needs of both in-school and out-of-school youth enrolled in the program.  The Get2Work Project also offers job search and placement activities, counseling, educational services such as tutoring and GED classes, college preparation, and an array of other services.
