"Then and Now"

by F. Hernandez (GSCS Youth Development Services Participant)

Once I was Unseen
Now I am Observed
Once I like Hiding in the shadow of someone else
Now I like looking back at my shadow
Once I wore baggy pants
Now I wear professional outfits
Once I went with the flow
Now I go against the current
Once I ate only things that were familiar
Now I eat things that represent new experiences
Once I was concerned about the future
But now I am ready for change.
